EPISODE ONE: IT’S HERE!!!
The Power of Positivity Podcast is officially here. I am extremely excited about this endeavor. I wanted to create a means to engage in discussion and establish a small community of Scripture nerds. If your devoted to in-depth study of the Word of God..this Podcast is for you. When I say in-depth study of the Word of God, I mean valuing Scripture as instruction for life, the revelation of Jesus Christ, and a road map of all existence. Scripture is my FAVORITE historical record. Join me as we engage in devotion Q & A, life coaching, teenage mentoring, and addressing hard topics with the lens of Scripture.
Power of Positivity is the name of this podcast because there is power in the Word of God to overcome negativity and evil and live the truth of this verse:
“Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.” (Romans 12:21)
Thank You so much for being the Author and Creator of all things. I acknowledge Your Sovereignty and Faithfulness. In the face of all that this world has going on right now I declare this work is for Your Kingdom and the advancement of Your truth. Allow Your Presence to be sought, felt, and the seal of this endeavor. It is all Yours to do whatever You will. You are holy and You do all things well so I entrust myself and the work that You have called me to complete to You. Holy Spirit it’s all on You lol I can’t serve in faithfulness without You but with You and through You I can crush an army and scale any wall. Please show Yourself to be KING of kings on this earth. Use this for Your glory alone and bless those who partake in Jesus Name I pray Amen.
I recently released the track Pains of Change. I thought it would be a good starting point to introduce myself on the podcast. The song begins with the lines:
“Its the pains of change necessary for growth
It ain’t no in between your either in the ocean or the boat
As I quote over notes I no longer drink or smoke
Although sometimes I miss those folks
Without that life I found new hope”
The new hope I found came from studying the Word of God for myself. I sat down one day with my heart set on getting to know who God is and why He made me. I wanted to understand what He wanted me to do with my life because everything I seemed to do was failing miserably. Let me clarify what I mean by “failing”. Money was not the issue, possessions, friends, etc were not the issue. The issue was my dissatisfaction and lack of fulfillment. The issue was my awareness that God wanted me to be something different than I was at the time. When I sat down to read the Word of God, my eyes were opened.
Nothing has impacted me greater than the study of Jesus Christ in the books Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I fell in love with Jesus, I came to reverence Him as LORD and believe the very words He spoke were the Words of God. The thing about it is there is no way that I could read the words of Jesus and conclude that my lifestyle at the time was acceptable. On the contrary I read His Word and realized I was in deep need of God’s forgiveness and salvation because the judgment of eternal damnation that was pending for me at the time was just. I was ecstatic when I finally came to grips with the truth that God loved me so much that He allowed Jesus to pay the punishment for my sins and I gained the privilege of imitating and living like Him.
As we go through this journey of exalting Christ and studying the Word of God my hope is that we will thoroughly experience the joy of knowing Jesus and the hope of resurrection. Let’s keep heaven on our mind and leave everything that is not like Christ behind.
“But everything that was a gain to me, I consider to be a loss because of Christ. 8. More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ -the righteousness from God based on faith. 10 My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead.” (Phillipians 3:7-11)
