Did Jesus Associate with Darkness to “Shine Light”?

Lately I’ve seen so much emphasis on the idea that Jesus “associated” or fellowshipped with darkness for the sake of shining light.

WHAT??? (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

I’m seeing an increased mingling of the “church” with the world. Collaborations between believers and devil worshippers on tracks, people professing to know God but continuously denying Him in works (Titus 1:16).

The idea of Jesus eating with tax collectors and sinners is twisted when people try to condone fellowship with darkness in the name of “shining light” and this is why.

John the Baptist proceeded Jesus preaching a baptism of repentance. In the following verses we see who came to that baptism and actually followed #godsplan (which is repent and believe see Luke 7:29,30)

““Which of the two did his father’s will? ” “The first,” they said. Jesus said to them, “I assure you: Tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you! For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him. Tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him, but you, when you saw it, didn’t even change your minds then and believe him.” Matthew 21:31-32

These verses show the tax collectors and “sinners” were the ones who had come to repent. Jesus did not sit around chilling and hoping to build relationships so He could “shine light”. He was always on mission preaching, teaching , ministering, all for the glory of God. The tax collectors and sinners were the ones listening Luke 15:1,2 and responding properly by repenting and believing. Luke 19:1-10 is a great example.

Without holiness NO ONE will see the LORD. Our love for people should drive us to confront sin in our own lives and theirs. We are not called to be friends with the world (James 4:4). We are called to testify that it’s deeds are evil. When we do this we will get the same response Jesus did, namely hatred (John 7:7).

It does not matter how many followers a person has, how well the world speaks of them, or how much money they store up, if they are not teaching you to come out and be separate from the world so that God will welcome you (2 Corinthians 6:17,18) don’t listen to them, recognize them as false.

Praise God for High beams!!!

It almost felt like a dream. I was reclined back in my seat taking a nap in a parking lot. A few hours prior I woke up at 3:30am attempting to jump start the day. Around 5:00am my to do list had been hijacked by a nap.

What happened at 6am that felt like a dream?

My nap was sweetly interrupted by an older gentlemen accompanied by a crowd with bags in their hands. His voice rung out, “Good morning, would you like some breakfast?” I shook my head “no.”

I could not fall back asleep because I realized there were several cars and trucks around me with napping cargo. The group went to each car and passed out what must have been a hearty breakfast.

I was so moved by the kindness that I quickly caught up to them and asked if they were a ministry. He responded, “Yes, First Baptist Church South Hill”

As I drove off my heart was filled with praise. I understood in that moment what Matthew 5:14-16 means.

There were no strings attached no agenda. I just felt the joy of witnessing a pure good deed.

It inspired me and motivated me to believe nothing that I do for Christ is in vain.

Body of Christ we were saved not by but for good works. Let Ephesians 2:10 resonate today!

Hallelujah! Praise Yahweh!

They were shining bright light high beams 🙂images

Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. 15. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. 16. In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father In heaven.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good work, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.
